dc.description.abstract Breakfast is considered the most important meal of the day and is regarded as a major dietary source of energy. Today, skipping breakfast has become the norm. In particular, among advanced level students, skipping breakfast is linked to negative consequences on academic performance. Data on the association between skipping breakfast and performance among advanced level students are quite scarce. In order to determine the relationship between skipping breakfast and academic performance among advanced level students, we are attempting to present a study. The objective of the study is to determine the impact of skipping breakfast habits towards the educational performance among Advanced Level students in Batticaloa town schools in Batticaloa district. Descriptive cross sectional study design was conducted among Advanced Level students in Batticaloa town schools in Batticaloa district, using a self- online questionnaire. Variables were analysed using Version 29 (SPSS29). Response rate was 76.7% and prevalence of breakfast skippers was 91.04%.And 53.73% was skipping breakfast more than 1 month. And also 84.8% have knowledge that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. The academic performance of breakfast non skippers is greater than the academic performance of breakfast skippers. Research revealed that there is a significant effect of skipping breakfast on academic performance of the Advanced Level students. en_US
